Grinding on Saturday?

Ok.

Here’s an odd email.

I’m gonna take a second to brag on myself.

Not arrogance. I just want to give some hope to those of you who are hard at work on the weekend, hustling towards a better life.

Here’s the brag:

I haven’t messaged my co-teacher Todd on the weekend for 10 straight weeks.

He hasn’t messaged me either.

A win for both of us.

This is different from the first 4 years of us being in business together.

Most weekends, Saturday and/or Sunday, we’d be pinging each other back & forth. Talking about offers, LinkedIn posts, emails, surveys, course launches, masterclass structure, lead magnets, newsletters, testimonials, customers, support tickets, software setup… whatever the focus of the moment was.

A true grind.

An endless grind.

Or so I thought.

And before I say the next part, don’t get me wrong.

We still grind.

We still work hard.

We will still work the occasional weekend.

Emergencies come and go.

Business issues pop up.

Team gets stuck.

This is the life of an entrepreneur.

But the momentum we created from a decade of grind (separately), and nearly a half-decade of grind (together) means that our leverage is through the roof.

That means Todd can take his wife and her friends to Paris for a week to see Taylor Swift just for the hell of it.

And I can take my daughter to all of her swim classes.

And buy my in laws a house.

And buy twin Teslas for the safety upgrade & gas bill elimination.

Meanwhile…

No bosses.

No asking for time off.

No arbitrary reports for middle managers.

No lazy coworkers who drag everyone down.

This side of life is so much sweeter.

How long does it take to get there?

Well,

That depends on when you start.

Now.

Read Online Howdy Ya'll, This week I bought two more Teslas (now up to three). I'm so tired of paying for gasoline and driving cars with 20 year old technology. Over the holidays I took my Tesla to the beach. The car drove by itself most of the way with my hands off the wheel. This is the future. Every writer leaves behind two graves when they die. The first one holds the body. That’s not so important. The second one holds the ideas they never got to write. That’s why I’m so intense about writing. It’s why I publish seven to ten blogs per week. It’s why I’m on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Substack constantly. I’ve never been worried about writing too much. I’m terrified I’ll write too little. What if I leave behind some of my best ideas? What if I never get the chance to talk about...
